Foxhole Cottage

This charming, sunny 2-story cottage is centrally located in Hendersonville on a private, multi-cabin property, close to downtown (only 3.5 miles).  Perfectly situated for exploring DuPont and Pisgah's waterfalls and trails, Asheville, Brevard and more. The historic Foxhole Cottage is ideal for couples, business travelers or friends traveling together. This home is not suitable for children under 12 years old.  No pets allowed.

The Space

The Foxhole Cottage has a celebrated history. This 2 bedroom/1.5 bath, 1940's cottage was originally built as a carriage house behind the historical stone house on the property, which was known as the Brightwaters Guesthouse, established in 1938. Upstairs housed 3 rooms - 2 were bedrooms for the cooks who came from Florida in the summers to cook at the Brightwaters Lodge and Dining Room, which used to be in the center of the property. A third room was used for the storage of goods. Renovations in the 1970's enclosed the downstairs (now the living/dining rooms, kitchen and half bath) and combined 2 rooms into 1 large master bedroom upstairs. The name, "Foxhole", is original to the structure. 

Today, the Foxhole Cottage has been refreshed and restored to it's former glory, exposing the refinished hardwood floors on the upper level, the original rustic doors and the beamed ceilings. 

The Foxhole Cottage is a great house for getting away to enjoy the outdoors. Accommodates a maximum of 4 people. Minutes to grocery and restaurants. Great for couples, business travelers or friends traveling together. Not suitable for children under  12 years old. 

You have the entire house for your enjoyment and relaxation. Includes a deck for outdoor dining and large locked storage for bikes, kayaks, and outdoor gear. Please bring your own padlock for the storage area.

TV/cable, DVD player, wireless internet, central A/C and heat, washer/dryer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, coffee filters, Brita water filter pitcher and blender.

For personal care, all of these amenities are included: blow dryer, towels, bed linens, bath wash, hand soap, toilet paper,  dishwashing soap, paper towels.

Private driveway parking for 2-3 vehicles. Taxis and rental car services from Asheville Airport, located only 12 miles away. Local guidebooks, maps and detailed hiking guides are available for your use.

Very close to all of the best mountain biking and hiking trails - DuPont, Pisgah, Bent Creek and Mills River. The Foxhole Cottage is centrally located to dining, breweries and entertainment in Hendersonville, Brevard and Asheville.

The Neighborhood

The Foxhole Cottage is on a quiet cul-de-sac in a small, private sub-division, owned by me. This is a multi-cabin property, so it is ideal for large groups. Check out my other cabins by clicking on my profile picture. 

The cottage is only 3.5 miles from downtown Hendersonville. Minutes to DuPont Forest and Pisgah Forest waterfalls and trails. Within 30 minutes, you can be in Asheville, Brevard, Bent Creek, the Bike Farm in Pisgah Forest, The Gorge, ziplining and white water rafting adventures. 

Check out Oskar Blues Brewery, Sierra Nevada Brewery, Bold Rock Cidery, St. Paul Mountain Vineyards, Burntshirt Vineyard and more. Even closer are all of the great restaurants, shops and breweries in downtown Hendersonville. Public golf course only 6 miles away. Kayaking and canoeing with Lazy Otter Outfitters is just 2 miles away. And in season, apple picking orchards are just minutes from the cottage.
